I absolutely believe in telling a couple’s story on a wedding day and most of that begins with the setting/venue. The story telling process is something that I specialize in and educate the couples on right when they contact me (check out more on my story telling process here). It's important to find a place that fits your personality and style.
If you are newly engaged, the first thing you are probably doing is scouring the internet in search of that perfect place. These venues below are ones that evoke a feeling to me that I had to share with you. These venues are not listed any specific order but simply here for you to gather information and be aware of as you plan.
Dover Hall is located in Manakin-Sabot Virginia. The story behind the existence of the robust english tutor is quite intriguing and is the perfect place to hold a grand wedding. The exterior is remarkable and once you enter the front door you can’t stop looking around at all the detail. This venue has many options for ceremony and reception of both indoor and outdoor locations. The rooms are all gorgeous backdrops to capture your day from the beginning of the day to the end.
Anderson House is one of those places that you had no idea was located here in the U.S. The outside is show stopping but when you enter you will be even more amazed at all the intricate gold detailing and large wall murals.
This has to be my absolute favorite venue. There is just something about Virginia House that makes you feel at home. The grounds are unique and every angle of the property is picturesque. There are a few places for a ceremony outdoors and an option for inside reception. This venue is for more intimate wedding especially for an elopement style wedding.
Keswick Vineyard is one of those venues that you would see a couple in the movies get married at with a large big white house and that is a every form of classic. The scenery of the Blue Ridge mountains rest in the background and no couple could not go wrong with choosing this place. Their authentic aurora tent for outdoor reception is a seamless fit for an outdoor Spring, Summer, or Fall wedding.
If you are looking for a place that has beautiful views with indoor space that is filled with natural light then look no further. With indoor and outdoor spaces that showcase many beautiful vignettes it make the perfect place to start planning your special day. The brick estate is surrounded with boxwood hedges and sits along the James River. The marble foyer alone paired with the double staircase is enough to have you eager to see more.
Great Marsh Estate is perfection, with the best of both worlds, grand and detailed . The drive leading up to the estate is how you imagine pulling up to an estate in England with trees on both sides. When you cross the small bridge along the drive you see a quaint pond and then ahead is the gorgeous Georgian Estate. Every space is well thought out with separate getting ready spaces and beautiful options for the ceremony and reception (indoor and outdoor).
This venue has a classic Napa Valley vibe perfect for couples that have there wedding on the East coast but are looking for that rustic West coast ambiance. This venue is a breath of fresh air from stonework and lush green hills that meets an elegance like no other venue around. Early Mountain Vineyard has the wonderful indoor/outdoor space for ceremonies/receptions.
